Does it WORK? ---> Etsy ChatGPT Title and Description Extension???

Does using ChatGPT Etsy Title/Description Extension work?

We are all being entertained of late with this concept of using ChatGPT AI for many different applications on the web. I will admit that I wanted to avoid the conversation for some time, BUT……..

In my YouTube suggested video feed, I have found videos sharing this tool called ETSYGPT and how the Google Chrome Extension helps create critical titles and descriptions.

It isn’t enough to say that mastering these skills of keyword research, title building, or description copywriting is a must in running an online business, especially when it comes to selling on marketplaces like Etsy.

If you care to look at this EtsyGPT: Etsy Listing Optimizer with ChatGPT, you can feel free to do so. You may find some exciting title keywords and description construction that you never thought of before.

Instead of doing a step-by-step video demonstration, I thought sharing this one from the Chrome Extension page would be easier.

Now let’s get into what this would be good for and how you may benefit from it.

If you struggle with finding keywords or understanding the best practices of SEO, this tool would be a good starting point to help you work towards mastering this skill.

The potential of coming up with award-winning keywords that you may not have thought of to describe your would be another great benefit.

Example: some of the keywords to add to my Vintage Recipe Card Downloads

  • Antique Aged

  • Grandma’s Best Recipes

  • War Era Cooking Recipes

  • Old Time Recipe Note Cards

Those are a few that popped up when I explored using the EtsyGPT tool.

Who is this tool not for?

Well….. the list could get rather extensive in explaining who this tool would not be best for. But I will keep it short and to the point.

To borrow an excellent online friend's phrase, “Dry Toast”. What does that phrase mean when associated with using EtsyGPT and its use of it?

You can quickly get to a point where EtsyGPT does all the work for you, and you don’t have to think about what you are describing your item as. Some buyers are looking for an emotion to attach to your item.

That emotion some buyers like to attach to is how your description copy comes across in tone, word selection, and even excitement about how it may be constructed.

EtsyGPT can give your product descriptions a sense of being fake, overwritten, and even to some points, misleading. Not to mention, just downright dull and tasteless. Just like you would have in eating “Dry Toast” for breakfast. Unless dry toast is your flavor for many reasons. (shhh…. my wife eats dry toast because she doesn’t find the slim of butter appetizing!)

Using an artificial tool like EtsyGPT, you can develop a voice in your descriptions that may not be cohesive to your brand or store. Have you ever read those newspaper articles by “Dear Abby"? Pauline Phillips had a consistent voice and tone in her articles that gave advice, charm, and even a sense of love for her craft. If you want to consistently build your descriptions to have a sense of love and care for your craft, then EtsyGPT may not be for you.

Is it a bad thing to use this tool?

I don’t necessarily believe it is as long as you are clear and focused on what it is designed to accomplish. By having some defined boundaries of how to use the tool, apply it, and develop a consistent tone/voice in your titles and descriptions, you will be on the road to finding your success.

How will I use tools like EtsyGPT or ChatGPT AI generators?

That is a great question! I won’t bore you with the timeline and history of using AI, but I have used it for almost two years in the Jasper.ai tool. These AI Generators are a great way to enhance exploring ideas and concepts to apply in your task or towards accomplishing goals. Admittedly, my original use was to speed up time and have these tools do the work for me without building on what they generated. I quickly became sloppy in the product and tone of the written word, that ultimately would be best described as “Dry Toast.”

I wish you all the best if you explore using these AI tools in your product titles and descriptions. They are lovely in saving time and quickly going from concept to finished product. I would encourage you to think of ways to use them to enhance your voice, tone, and your personal creative style.
